用于丧葬习俗中的“绕丧笙鼓舞”最为原始古老，是传统关岭苗族芦笙舞的组成部分。多为一人吹笙，一人击鼓，以祭奠亡人。其舞蹈动作简单，乐音悲伤低沉，气氛哀痛肃穆，是芦笙舞在丧葬活动中的祭祀仪式。这种习俗在现代社会中仍有保持。
The Lusheng and Drum Dance in the funeral customs is very old and primitive. It is a major part of the traditional Guanling Miao Lusheng Dance. In the dance，one person blows Lusheng，another beats the drum，to hold a memorial ceremony for dead people. The dance movements are simple，the music is low and sad in a sorrowful and solemn atmosphere. It is played in the sacrificial ceremony in funeral activities. This custom is still kept in the modern society.
